JSC “Murmansk Commercial seaport”

Nowadays JSC Murmansk Commercial Seaport is the largest enterprise of Murmansk and it ranks the fourth place in Russia on the volume of handled cargo and it is the second port in North Western part of Russia on the size (after the port of Saint Petersburg). JSC Murmansk Commercial Seaport has 17 berths with total length of about 3000 meters.
Length and depth by berths allows to receive vessels and put the vessels for cargo operations with draft up to 15.5 meters and length more than 265 meters. From the beginning of 1999 the port successfully handles the vessels of “PANAMAX” type with capacity up to 80 000 tones with intensity up to 20 000 tones a day.
JSC Murmansk Commercial Seaport is equipped with the modern handling facilities: 52 gantry cranes with the capacity up to 40 tn, 1 shiploader for handling of apatite concentrate with the capacity more than 1000 th tn/hour, 113 units of fork trucks with the capacity from 1,5 to 32 tn. To provide auxiliary operations the Port has roll-trailers, tractors, haulers, bulldozers.

The main range of cargoes handled by JSC MCS:

  • non-ferrous metals and alloys in packages(aluminium, copper, nickel);
  • rolled ferrous metals;
  • coal in bulk;
  • apatite concentrate in bulk;
  • alumina in bulk;
  • scrap and iron- ore pellets in bulk;
  • chemical products in bags and big-bags;
  • materials of construction;
  • foodstuffs;
  • technological equipment in cases and without packing;
  • different cargoes in containers ISO-20 and ISO-40, ICS and others.

There is open storage area and close storage area for storing the cargo in JSC Murmansk Commercial Seaport. Totally there are about 118 000 m2 of open storage area and 30 000 m2 of close storage area in the berth zone. There is a temporary storage warehouse. All storages and berths have convenient automobile and railway access roads, which allows to execute loading operations as from vessels to wagons (or backwards) so as through the storage house. Cargo operations in port execute 24 hours a day 7 days a week all year around without holidays. The main export receivers - countries of West Europe, in particular: Spain, Netherlands, Belgium, France, Great Britain and others.
